“If you saw a heat wave, would you wave back?”
We all did see a heat wave last week. And did you wave back? ;) This is a question asked by Steven Wright, and our Table Topic Master on our next meeting, Łukasz, also prepared some questions on the topic of heat, so I’m sure it’ll be warm this Wednesday :)
Additional thing to raise the temperature of this meeting is the number of speeches we’ll hear - three! That does not happen too often in our club, but I’m happy to say it becomes more and more common! This week we’ll hear Tomasz and Mateusz K. giving their speeches from the Competent Communication manual (projects #3 and #4, respectively), and Maciej will finalize the advanced Storytelling manual with his speech “War Stories (That Put Movie Plots To Shame)”.
The whole meeting will be led by Mateusz D. and believe me, Toastmasters meeting is a place to be this Wednesday at 6:30 PM!
Come join us!

April Fools on the Death Star
As you can see on the picture to the left, even Darth Vader enjoys a laugh from time to time.
Wait. No. He actually choked the guy who finally told him about the prank. Oh, well.
Fortunately, we at Kraków Public Speaking Club are much merrier than the Dark Lord of the Sith (which, asmittedly, is not too hard to achieve), and every meeting of ours is full of laughs and good athmosphere. The next one will be even merrier, as the topic is April Fools’ Day, which was created and prepared by our Table Topic Master, Tomek.
Our meeting will also be significant for one other reason - this is the first time in our club when we will have three speeches during the meeting! Olga bravely signed up for a follow up to her great Ice Breaker, and also our VP Education Hubert and Flying Toasters survivor Mateusz will make their further steps on the road to Competent Communicator title.
The meeting will be conducted by our First Secretary, Mateusz Drewienkowski. Because of those three speeches our meeting will be heavily concised, that’s why we ask our participants to come on time, as we plan to start the meeting 6:30 PM sharp. There will be cookies for those who come early! :)
The meeting time and place is as usual: Wednesday, March 28th, Warszawa room in Sabre Polska offices in Buma Square building at Wadowicka 6D (entrance 9). Also, don’t forget and be prepared for an after-meeting for a beer and a bite in a nearby Pomidorino restaurant!
See you next Wednesday!

The Abyss
Do you realize that we know more about Mars - the planet that is average 225 million kilometers from Earth - than the bottom of our own oceans?
On our next Toastmasters meeting next week our Table Topic Master Michał, a Flying Toasters club member, will ask us some questions that I’m sure will only embarrass our lack of knowledge, starting with his super secret warm-up question.
Aside from the Table Topic we will hear two speeches, one by our new member Krzysztof and the second by another Flying Toasters member, Mateusz.
The time and place are as usual: Warszawa room in Sabre Polska offices, Buma Square at 6D Wadowicka street (entrance 9).
See you Wednesday, March 14th as 6:30 PM!
PS. Also keep in mind that after the meeting we go for a bite and beer and discussion to a nice Pomidorino restaurant nearby! Hope you can join us there too!

Just peace.
“To a bloody war and quick promotion!” was a toast raised by British Army officers. We, as Masters of Toasts, know that, and you, if you join us in our meeting this week, can practice raising toasts like that and giving speeches during the table topic session prepared by Krzysztof, which will touch upon the topic of war and peace.
We will also have a chance to hear two promising new Toastmasters giving their speeches: Olga will prepare her Ice Breaker, titled “Why Am I Here?”, and Tomek will continue on his path to Competent Communicator with his second speech named “You Must Be Kidding Me”.
Well, I’m not kidding you when I say our Toastmasters meeting is the place to be this Wednesday at 6:30 PM in Sabre offices (details on how to get there - on our Where and When page).
Hope to see you there!

“I am the Law!” said judge Joseph Dread (among others). You know, that guy who was not only a judge, but also jury and execution with face of Sylvester Stallone, so whu wouldn’t trust such a nice guy?
But you can trust us - our next Toastmasters meeting on Wednesday, February 15th, 6:30 PM will be an event not to miss! Our Table Topic Master Łukasz, who already made himself known for being a perfect speaker, now will prepare questions that I’m sure will make us excel in our impromptu speaking.

our Word of the Day
The Word of the Day that Łukasz prepared is: “to object”, as in to say that you disagree with, disapprove of or oppose something, e.g. “I really object to being charged for parking, Judge Dredd!”, to which he will, of course, answer with the aforementioned quote “I am the law!” and then shoot you in the face.
But there will be no shooting on our meeting (I hope). Instead we will hear two speeches: one an Ice Breaker from our new member John and another by our secretary and our club’s good spirit, Mateusz.
The meeting will be conducted by judge Maciej. ALL RISE!
See you next Wednesday! :)
PS. Location as usual - Sabre Polska offices, Buma Square building, entrance 9 (just below the huge Sabre Holdings sign, you can’t miss it), Warszawa room.

Who of us never dreamed of being a superhero? A masked vigilante or a being with extraordinary powers we would use to help people and bring justice to the world?
Or maybe you would use those powers for evil?
Those and similar questions, prepared by our Table Topic Master Hubert, you’ll have a chance to face on our next Toastmasters meeting on February 1st at 6:30 PM at Sabre Offices in Buma Square at Wadowicka 6D.
Two speeches will also be presented - one an Ice Breaker from Krzysztof and the other - The Best Speech In The World by Łukasz.
The meeting will be conducted by our President, Radek.
Come join us!

“Coward: A man in whom the instinct of self-preservation acts
normally.” - Sultana Zoraya
On our next meeting our Table Topic Master Radek will as some questions about courage. Hubert no less courageously will deliver his Prpoject #8 speech: “A Solution to Your Everyday’s Problem”. It has to take some guts claiming to have such solution, and also to be evaluated by Piotr, I must admit ;)
The meeting will be conducted by Kasia.
Come join us!

"Murder Ballads"
In 1996 Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds released their album called “Murder Ballads”, which contained hell known hits like “Henry Lee” or “Where The Wild Roses Grow”, and… let me stop here, because when I start blabber about music, it’s hard to stop me. Let me just talk about our Toastmasters meeting this week.
This Wednesday, at the usual hour of 6:30 PM, as the darkness will fall and whe wind will howl (hopefully there’s gonna be some wind or even rain, with thunders and all that’ll bring proper athmosphere), we will tell some crime stories that I, as your Table Topics Master, will give some hints about.
Aside from that we’ll hear a confession, sorry, speech by Łukasz Wróbel, who will present Project 5 from CC manual, “Your Body Speaks”. Good topic for a meeting about murders, since bodies are always involved… Sorry, dozed off a little.
Anyway, the whole investigation, sorry, meeting will be led by Mateusz.
Can’t wait to kill, sorry, see you all there!

“All grown-ups were once children… but only few of them remember it.” (Antoine de Saint-Exupery, The Little Prince)
So many reasons to come to our meeting this Wednesday…
For sake of brevity (which is the soul of wit, as William Shakespeare once said) we’ll name just three:
1. Tomek Kruk and his Ice Breaker speech, “How I became a missionary”
2. Maciek Żywioł and his story called “The Misty Haze”
but most importantly,
3. Piotr Leszczyński and the amazing challenges he preapared for us in the Table Topics session.
And the whole meeting will be led as energetically as always, by Mr President, Radek.
Can’t wait!
Can you?
PS. Remember that we moved to different room in the building! We no longer meet at the ground floor in the main hall. Find us in Warszawa room on the first floor of Sabre Polska offices, which you can access through entrance 8 (first door to the right of the main building entrance, right next to BZ WBK bank).

“Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.”
– Steve Jobs
Toastmasters is one of those places to practive being innovative and creative in the company of friendly people who will give you constructive feedback and plenty of advice! It’s also the place where you can learn to be a leader. Don’t believe me? Come on Wednesday!
We’ll hear two speeches: one by our Club Secretary, Mateusz, and second by our Treasurer, Piotr, and the Table Topic questions will be prepared by the President’s Wife, Kasia!
WARNING! NEW MEETING PLACE! We still meet in Buma, but instead of old Vinotti shop, where we had our last several meetings, starting this Wednesday we’ll meet in WARSZAWA room in Sabre offices (first floor). To get there you’ll have to enter Sabre offices by the door from the outside of Buma, right next to BZ WBK Bank (look for it on the right of Buma’s main entrance). You will also have to sign into guest book.
